Event Coordinator (Short-Term Contract)
Hourly rate: £20 – £25/hour depending on experience.
Greener Kinross-shire is organising a large, community‑powered repair festival at Kinross Spring Market (23rd May) — and we’re looking for an experienced Event Coordinator to bring it all together with an immediate start. If you thrive on collaboration, creativity, and delivering events with real local impact, this role will suit you beautifully.
About the Role
As our Event Coordinator, you’ll take the lead in shaping and delivering an exciting, well‑organised festival programme that celebrates repair, sustainability, and community skills. You’ll work closely with local partners, high school, businesses, and volunteers to ensure the event runs smoothly from planning to post‑event evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with local businesses, Kinross High School, KLEO, and other partners to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Create and coordinate engaging publicity to raise awareness and encourage community participation.
- Prepare and deliver invitations to key stakeholders, including Remake, local councillors, and local press.
- Develop and manage an attractive programme featuring repair demonstrations, hands‑on activities, and a fashion show.
- Arrange all equipment and materials required for the successful delivery of Fixit.
- Track engagement and produce a post‑event evaluation report for the Funder.

Candidate’s desirable skills:
- Strong knowledge of social media
- Proven experience coordinating community events or festivals
- A passion for sustainability, repair culture, or community development is a bonus
What does the position offer:
You will be working as part of Greener Kinross-shire, managing our main event in 2026 which aims at developing sustainability in the heart of Kinross-shire. You will obtain experience of working with different collaborators and stakeholders, and lead community change towards net-zero strategy.
The contract style job is principally for a self-employed professional working from home and doing occasional travel for meetings. Travel expenses will be covered.
